Uzbekistan and China Discuss the Development of Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence

The meeting focused on developing bilateral cooperation within the World AI Cooperation Organization (WAICO), expanding Uzbekistan’s participation in the organization’s activities, and implementing joint projects in artificial intelligence.

The sides emphasized the importance of international cooperation in advancing and deploying information technology (IT) and discussed prospects for collaboration in ensuring data security.

They also discussed establishing cooperation with leading Chinese universities and improving IT-related curricula and textbooks at higher education institutions.

Particular attention was given to the institutional and organizational aspects of cooperation within WAICO. The sides discussed ensuring Uzbekistan’s active participation in the organization, making effective use of the opportunities available to the country, and promoting mutually beneficial initiatives.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation between companies from the two countries in artificial intelligence, attracting leading Chinese technology companies to operate in Uzbekistan, and positioning the country as a regional hub for technological cooperation.
